SignOnSite alternatives for small builders, and how Foreman compares
Foreman is the QR code site induction and site diary app for small Australian builders. Here is how it compares with SignOnSite, now part of Breadcrumb and built for commercial builders, on price, contracts and what your crew has to do at the gate.
Every SignOnSite detail checked against SignOnSite’s own pages on 12 October 2026.
The short answer
For a small builder, Foreman is the simpler SignOnSite alternative, with QR site inductions and a site diary in one app at a published price. Your first project is free with every feature, then it's $29 a month for each person with a login. SignOnSite, now part of Breadcrumb, charges an upfront annual fee based on construction volume, offers no free trial and has no site diary of its own.

- You want AI-assisted review of subcontractor SWMS across many sites.
- You want kiosks or turnstiles at the gate. Biometric turnstiles are an optional add-on.
Pick Foreman if
- You run residential jobs and want a published price you can start on without a sales call.
- You want the site diary and the inductions in the same app.
- You want to run a full job free before you pay anything.
- You would rather pay per person with a login than an annual fee based on construction volume.
Moving from SignOnSite
Set up a project, add your site documents and SWMS, and put the QR sign on the gate. Workers induct on their own phone the next time they arrive, and your crew can write the day's diary entry from the same app. Your first project is free, so you can run one job on both before you decide.
What it costs for a small team
SignOnSite: no published price. Its pricing page describes an upfront annual fee based on your annual construction volume, so you need a quote.
Foreman: a team of 6 with logins costs $174 a month, or $139.20 a month billed yearly. Subbies and visitors who only induct at the gate are free, however many there are.

What Foreman leaves out, on purpose
Foreman does site inductions, the site diary, crew hours, tasks, forms and project documents, and keeps them simple enough for the whole crew. It leaves out estimating, quoting, invoicing, scheduling and job costing. If you need those in the same system as your site records, a full construction management platform will suit you better.
