Foreman

Site sign-in

Site sign-in on a phone, from one QR code

Visitors and subbies scan the poster at the gate and complete your induction in their phone's browser, for free. Your crew check in and out with the same code, so the office can see who's on site right now.

How it works at the gate

  1. Step 1Print the poster for the gateEvery site gets a print-ready QR sign, 297 × 501 mm, headed Site Induction Required. There is also one company-wide poster that works at every site you run.
  2. Step 2Visitors and subbies induct on their phoneThey scan the code and read your site documents. Then they add their details, white card number and an emergency contact, and sign on screen. It runs in the phone's browser, and each person inducts once per site.
  3. Step 3Your crew check in and outSwitch on check-in and your crew scan the same code when they arrive, then tap Check out when they leave. Each shift saves to the site diary with the time on site.

What the office sees

  • An induction register for each site: who inducted, their company, white card number and signature, and the minute they signed.
  • An On site now card showing which crew are checked in, where, and since when.
  • Every shift in the site diary, with hours from check-in to check-out.
  • Export any filtered view as a CSV for payroll, or a PDF to send a client.

What it costs

Inductions are free and unlimited on every plan, and the people who only induct are never billed. Your first project is free with every feature, including check-in. After that, it’s $29 a month for each person with a login. See pricing.

What Foreman doesn’t do

Foreman records each person’s induction once per site. It doesn’t keep a daily sign-in and sign-out log for visitors, and the On site now list covers crew who check in, so it isn’t a full evacuation roll. For daily visitor sign-ins, keep the free site sign-in sheet at the gate alongside the QR poster.

Site sign-in questions

Do visitors need to download an app to sign in?
No. Visitors and subbies scan the QR code with their phone camera and the induction opens in the browser, with no login.
Is site sign-in free?
Inductions are free and unlimited on every plan, and people who only induct are never billed. Crew who check in and out have Foreman logins, which are $29 a month each once you are past your first project. Your first project is free with every feature.
Can Foreman show who is on site right now?
For your crew, yes: the On site now card lists everyone checked in, with the site and the time they arrived. Visitors and subbies who only induct don't check in, so they don't appear on it.
Can I use Foreman as an evacuation roll?
Not for everyone. On site now covers crew who check in, not visitors or subbies. Keep a sign-in sheet at the gate if you need a full list of who is on site in an emergency.
What is the difference between signing in and inducting?
An induction is the briefing on the site's hazards and rules, done once per person per site. Signing in records attendance each day. Foreman does the induction for everyone and daily check-in for your crew.
