Best site induction apps in Australia (2026)

Prices and features checked against each company’s own pages on 15 October 2026. We make Foreman, one of the apps on this list.

The short answer

The best site induction app depends on the size of your jobs. For small builders, Foreman runs QR inductions in the worker's phone browser with a site diary included, free for your first project. Commercial builders on Procore tend to look at SignOnSite, head contractors at HammerTech, and builders who want one platform that grows into scheduling at BuildPass.

What a site induction app does

A site induction app replaces the clipboard at the gate. Each site gets a QR code or a link. Workers, subbies and visitors open it on their phone, read your site rules and documents, such as the SWMS, enter their details and sign. You get a dated register for every site.

It covers the site-specific part of an induction, which is separate from the white card. Some apps stop there. Others add visitor sign-in, contractor insurances and licences, a site diary, or a full safety platform with permits and inspections. The more they add, the more they usually cost and the longer they take to set up.

How we compared them

We used five things a builder can check for themselves, taken from each company’s own pricing and product pages. Where a page doesn’t say, we say that, rather than assume the feature is missing.

  1. Published price. Whether you can see the cost before talking to sales, and what it's based on: users, sites or construction volume.
  2. Free plan or trial. Whether you can run a real job on it before paying.
  3. What a worker needs to induct. An app download, an account or SMS code, or nothing but a phone camera. This decides how many subbies actually finish it.
  4. Site diary included. Whether the daily record of the job sits in the same app, or needs another product.
  5. Contract. Month to month, or an annual fee paid upfront.

Foreman: best for small builders who want inductions and a site diary at a published price

Foreman gives every site a QR code. People who only induct are never billed.

Where it goes further

  • Nothing for workers to install and no login, so subbies finish the induction at the gate.
  • A published price, with the first project free and no annual contract.
  • The site diary, crew hours and forms in the same app, so the induction register sits next to the daily record of the job.

Pick something else if

  • you want quoting, scheduling or job costing in the same app
  • you need kiosks, turnstiles or access control at the gate

Best site induction apps in Australia: questions

What is the best site induction app in Australia?
It depends on the job. For small builders, Foreman runs QR inductions with no app or login and includes a site diary, free for your first project. Head contractors tend to use HammerTech, and commercial builders on Procore often use SignOnSite.
Is there a free site induction app?
Foreman's inductions are free and unlimited on every plan, and your first project is free with every feature. Mitti has a free plan for up to 10 users, but its site sign-in is a paid add-on. Most others offer a trial at most.
What does site induction software cost in Australia?
Of the apps that publish prices, Foreman is free for one project then $29 a month per login, Mitti is $24 a seat a month billed yearly, Sitemate is AUD $28 to $94 per user, EVA Check-in is AUD $50 to $125 a site and SiteBook starts at $149 a month plus GST. SignOnSite, HammerTech, LinkSafe and BuildPass quote instead.
Do workers need to download an app to do a site induction?
Not with every app. Foreman, LinkSafe and SignOnSite's inductions need no app, and HammerTech workers induct without creating an account. BuildPass asks workers for a profile verified by SMS code.
How do I choose a site induction app?
Check five things: whether the price is published, whether you can run a real job free, what a worker has to do to finish the induction, whether a site diary is included, and whether it's month to month or an annual contract.
Does a site induction app replace the white card?
No. The white card is general construction induction training. A site induction app covers the site-specific part: this site's hazards, rules and emergency procedures, and records who completed it.
