How it works at the gate

  1. Step 1Print the QR sign for the gateEvery site gets a print-ready sign headed Site Induction Required. Stick it on the gate or the site office door.
  2. Step 2Workers scan it on their own phoneThe induction opens in the phone's browser, with no app to download and no login. They see the site address and supervisor, and read your site documents, such as the SWMS.
  3. Step 3They fill in their details and signName, company, phone, white card number and an emergency contact, then a signature on screen.
  4. Step 4It lands in the register for that siteYou see who inducted and when, with the details they entered. Check it from the office or on your phone, for every site you run.

Free site induction software questions

Is Foreman's site induction software really free?
Yes. Inductions are free and unlimited on every plan, including the free plan, and the people who only induct are never counted as users. Your first project is free with every feature. You pay $29 a month for each person with a login once you run more than one project.
When would a subcontractor cost me anything?
Only if you give them a Foreman login, for example so they can fill in diary entries or forms. Then they count like any other user. A subbie who only inducts at the gate never costs anything.
What happens when I start a second job?
You choose who needs a login and pay $29 a month for each of them, or $23.20 a month billed yearly. Paid plans are month to month. Inductions stay free and unlimited, and people who only induct still cost nothing.
Do workers need to download an app?
No. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and the induction opens in the browser, with no login.
Can I attach our SWMS and site rules?
Yes. Add your site documents to the project, such as the SWMS and safety information, and workers read them on the induction page before they sign.
Is a site induction a legal requirement?
It depends on the state and the job. Victoria requires site-specific training by regulation, Queensland requires an induction except on housing, and elsewhere it's how you meet the duty to inform workers. Our state-by-state guide covers each one.
