How to print your site QR code posters
One download gives you two posters for the gate. Here's which one to use, and how to get it printed at the right size.
To get your site posters, open the project in Foreman, tap Download, then Site posters. You get a zip with two print-ready PDFs: the site's own "Site Induction Required" poster and your company-wide "Scan when entering the site" poster. Both are 297 × 501 mm with 3 mm bleed, sized for a print shop rather than an office printer.
An Admin can download posters for any project. A Site Manager can download them for the projects they manage.
Download the posters
- Open Projects and tap the project.
- Tap Download at the top of the project page. On a phone it shows as a download icon with no label.
- Under Print & display on site, tap Site posters.
- Open the zip. It holds one PDF per poster.
Foreman builds the posters fresh every time you download them, straight from the project's live induction link, so a new download always has a working code.
The two posters, and which one to use
The site poster reads "Site Induction Required" and "Scan the QR code to complete before entering". Its QR code goes straight to that one site's induction. It carries the Foreman logo and the QR code, with no project name or address on it.
The company poster reads "Scan when entering the site" and carries your business name. Its QR code isn't tied to a site, so the same poster works at every job you run. A visitor who scans it picks the site they're at from a list before they see the induction.
Both say "For assistance contact your site supervisor" at the bottom. Neither prints the web address, only the QR code.
Most gates only need one sign. The site poster is the more direct of the two: visitors land straight on the right induction, and if your crew check in and out, it also picks the site for them when they scan it logged in. The company poster suits a builder who wants to print one design and reuse it on every job. What workers see when they scan walks through both.
Printing
The PDFs are 297 mm wide and 501 mm tall, with 3 mm of bleed on every side. Give the print shop the file as it is and ask them to trim off the bleed. The QR code is vector artwork, so it stays sharp when printed large.
Send the PDF to a sign or print shop and ask for it at that size. Print it on an A4 office printer and it gets scaled down. It still scans, but it's a small sign to spot on a busy fence.
Where to put them
Put the poster where everyone stops before they walk onto site: the main gate, the site office door, or the sign-in point if you have one. Keep it at eye height and out of direct glare so phone cameras can read the code. If the site has more than one entrance, put a poster at each.
Because the site poster has no site name on it, write the job name on the back or file each one as you download it. A poster for one job put up at another sends visitors to the wrong induction.
Other ways to share the induction
- Just the QR code: in the Download menu, use the download button on the QR code to save it as a PNG for your own signage.
- The link: tap Copy induction link next to the address under the QR code and send it in a text or email. This also helps anyone whose camera won't read QR codes.
If something doesn't look right
- No Site posters option, or no QR code in the menu. The project is archived. Archived projects don't accept inductions, so the posters and the link are hidden. Unarchive the project to get them back.
- Can't see the Download menu. Only Admins and the project's Site Managers have it. Ask your Admin to make you Site Manager on that project; see user roles.
- Old posters. A site's induction link never changes, so posters you've already put up keep working.
Before you print, check the induction itself: set up the site induction. For more on how the QR code works at the gate, see Foreman's site inductions.
