SafetyCulture (Mitti) alternatives for small builders, and how Foreman compares
Foreman is the QR code site induction and site diary app for small Australian builders. Here is how it compares with Mitti, the inspections platform that was called SafetyCulture until August 2026, on price, site sign-in and the site diary.
Every Mitti detail checked against Mitti’s own pages on 12 October 2026.
The short answer
For a builder, Foreman is the simpler SafetyCulture alternative: QR site inductions at every site with no per-site fee, and a site diary built in. Your first project is free with every feature, then it's $29 a month for each person with a login. Mitti, SafetyCulture's new name, charges $24 a seat a month for Premium, and its site sign-in is A$150 a site a month and still in Early Access.

- You want a very large template library and a free plan for a team of up to 10 doing checklists.
- You already use SafetyCulture for inspections and want everything in one place.
Pick Foreman if
- You want a dedicated site diary on every plan, with CSV and PDF export.
- You want QR site inductions at every site without a per-site fee or an Early Access feature.
- You don't want every visitor who signs on added to your account as a user.
- You want your AI assistant to read and write your site records in Claude or ChatGPT.
Moving from Mitti
Set up a project, add your site documents and SWMS, and put the QR sign on the gate. Workers induct on their own phone the next time they arrive, and your crew can write the day's diary entry from the same app. Your first project is free, so you can run one job on both before you decide.
What it costs for a small team
Mitti: Premium for 6 people is $144 a month billed yearly, before tax. Sign On for one site adds A$150 a month, and each extra site is another licence.
Foreman: a team of 6 with logins costs $174 a month, or $139.20 a month billed yearly, with inductions and the diary on every site. Subbies and visitors who only induct at the gate are free.

What Foreman leaves out, on purpose
Foreman does site inductions, the site diary, crew hours, tasks, forms and project documents, and keeps them simple enough for the whole crew. It leaves out estimating, quoting, invoicing, scheduling and job costing. If you need those in the same system as your site records, a full construction management platform will suit you better.
