Procore alternatives for small builders, and how Foreman compares

Foreman is the QR code site induction and site diary app for small Australian builders. Here is how it compares with Procore, the construction management platform for head contractors, on price, contracts and inductions.

Every Procore detail checked against Procore’s own pages on 12 October 2026.

The short answer

For a small builder, Foreman is the simpler Procore alternative: QR site inductions where subbies need no login, a site diary and crew hours, at a published price. Your first project is free with every feature, then it's $29 a month for each person with a login. Procore is built for head contractors, with an upfront annual fee based on construction volume and no published prices.

Moving from Procore

Set up a project, add your site documents and SWMS, and put the QR sign on the gate. Workers induct on their own phone the next time they arrive, and your crew can write the day's diary entry from the same app. Your first project is free, so you can run one job on both before you decide.

What it costs for a small team

Procore: no published price. Its Australian pricing page describes an upfront annual fee by product, based on your annual construction volume, so you need a quote.

Foreman: a team of 6 with logins costs $174 a month, or $139.20 a month billed yearly, with inductions and the diary on every site. Subbies and visitors who only induct at the gate are free.

  • HammerTech

What Foreman leaves out, on purpose

Foreman does site inductions, the site diary, crew hours, tasks, forms and project documents, and keeps them simple enough for the whole crew. It leaves out estimating, quoting, invoicing, scheduling and job costing. If you need those in the same system as your site records, a full construction management platform will suit you better.
