How to find, sort and archive projects

Filter the Projects list, sort it your way, and archive a job when it's done. Nothing is ever deleted.

Projects lists every project in your business. Use Filter to find one, Display options to sort the list, and a project's menu to archive it. Archived projects stay out of sight until you ask for them.

Find a project

Tap Filter, then pick:

  • Status: Active or Archived. It starts on Active.
  • Site manager: one or more people, or No site manager.

Only Admins see Status. Site Managers and crew see the active projects they're on.

Sort the list

Tap Display options, then choose Sort by: Date created, Name, Last activity or On site now. Tap the arrow beside it to flip the order. Foreman remembers your choice in this browser.

On site now only shows if your business records hours by checking in and out.

Archive a project

Only Admins can archive.

  1. Open the project.
  2. Tap More actions, then Archive project.
  3. Tap Archive project again to confirm.

Nothing is deleted. Diaries, inductions, forms and tasks are all kept.

Unarchive a project

  1. On Projects, tap Filter, then Status, then Archived.
  2. Tap Unarchive on the project's row.

It goes back to Active with its team as it was.

Read a row

Each row shows the project, its team, who's on site now, how many site diaries it has and when it last had a diary or check-in.

Tap a number to open that project's list. The totals at the top open Site diaries already filtered.

A lock instead of a number means you're crew on that site. Its diaries are for its Site Manager to see.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find an archived project in Foreman?
On Projects, tap Filter, then Status, then Archived. Only Admins see the Status filter. Each archived project has an Unarchive button on its row.
Does archiving a project delete its records?
No. Diaries, inductions, forms and tasks are all kept, and Admins can still export them. The project's induction link stops working while it's archived, and nobody can add new records to it. Unarchive it to bring everything back.
Why does Projects show a lock instead of a diary count?
You're crew on that site, so its diaries are for its Site Manager to see. On sites you manage, you see the count and can tap it to open that project's diaries.
