Done adding up hours by hand?
In Foreman, crew can check in by scanning the site QR code when they arrive and check out when they leave, once an admin switches check-in on. Timesheet calculator questions
- How do I work out hours from a start and finish time?
- Take the finish time, subtract the start time, then subtract any unpaid breaks. 7:00 to 3:30 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch is 8 hours. The calculator does this for each day and adds up the week.
- What are decimal hours?
- Hours written as a number instead of hours and minutes, which is what payroll and invoicing software usually want. 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours, and 7 hours 20 minutes is 7.33.
- What if a shift runs past midnight?
- Enter the finish time as it was. If it's earlier than the start, the calculator treats it as the next morning.
- Does it work out pay, overtime or penalty rates?
- No. It totals the hours only. Rates, overtime and penalties depend on the award or agreement each worker is on, so check those with the Fair Work Ombudsman or your payroll provider.
- Is what I enter saved anywhere?
- No. Everything stays in your browser and is gone when you close the page, so print it or copy it as CSV first.
