Foreman's Free plan gives you one project at no cost, for as long as you like, with unlimited users and unlimited site inductions on it. You only pay when you want a second project. The paid plan is A$29 per user per month billed monthly, or A$23.20 per user per month billed yearly, where a user is anyone with a login. Visitors who only do the induction are never counted.

There's no trial clock ticking down. Your first project is the trial, and it doesn't expire.

What the Free plan includes

  • One project, fully working: site diary, photos, tasks, forms, documents and the site induction
  • As many crew and Admins as you like on that project
  • Unlimited site inductions
  • No card needed to sign up

The limit is one project over the life of your account. That's the first project you create, and archiving it doesn't free up the slot, so don't burn it on a test job.

Who counts as a billable user

On the paid plan you pay for each person who can log in:

  • every Admin
  • every Site Crew member, including anyone who is a Site Manager on a project

You don't pay for:

  • subbies, visitors and inspectors who only scan the QR code and do the induction
  • people whose access you've revoked

Taking someone off a project doesn't take them off the bill, because they can still log in. Revoking their access does. See how to add and remove your team.

What happens when you create a second project

If you're on Free and tap New project when you already have one, you get the upgrade screen instead of the new project form. It shows the price for the number of users you have now, so you see the total before you commit to anything. Tap Maybe later and nothing changes. Your first project keeps working as it did.

How to upgrade

You need to be an Admin.

  1. Tap New project, or go to Settings > Billing and tap Upgrade.
  2. Choose Yearly or Monthly. Yearly is picked to start and saves 20%: A$23.20 per user per month, charged once a year. Monthly is A$29 per user per month.
  3. Tap Subscribe.
  4. Enter your card details on the Stripe payment page. Foreman never sees or stores your card.

The plan starts straight away and you can create as many projects as you need. You're charged for however many users you have at that moment.

Adding and removing users on the paid plan

When the team changes, you don't have to touch billing. Add someone or revoke them and the bill adjusts on its own. Adding someone partway through a billing period creates a part-period charge, and revoking someone creates a credit. Stripe works these out for you, and you can see them on your next invoice under Manage plan.

Changing plans, invoices and cancelling

Go to Settings > Billing and tap Manage plan. That opens Stripe's billing page, where you can:

  • update your card
  • switch between monthly and yearly
  • view and download invoices
  • see your current user count and next charge
  • cancel

What happens if you cancel

Everything keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. After that your account goes read-only:

  • you and your crew can still see all your projects, diary entries, inductions and documents
  • nobody can add or change anything
  • the induction QR code stops accepting new inductions

Your data is kept. To get going again, go to Settings > Billing, tap Manage plan and subscribe again. There are no refunds for the unused part of a period, so if you cancel a yearly plan halfway through, you stay on until the year ends.

A cancelled account stays read-only rather than dropping back to Free. Once you've been on the paid plan, it's paying or read-only. If your card fails, Stripe retries it and emails you. If it still fails, the account goes read-only in the same way.

Good to know

  • Prices are in Australian dollars.
  • Have a promo code? You can enter it on the Stripe payment page when you subscribe.
  • Questions about your plan? Settings > Billing has a Schedule a call section to book time with the Foreman team.

Full pricing is on the pricing page. If inductions are the main reason you're here, Foreman's site inductions stay unlimited on every plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Foreman's free plan really free forever?
Yes. The Free plan covers the first project you create, with unlimited users and unlimited site inductions, and it doesn't expire. You only pay if you want a second project. One catch: archiving your first project doesn't free up the slot.
Who counts as a paid user in Foreman?
Anyone who can log in, which means every Admin and every Site Crew member, including Site Managers. Subbies and visitors who only do the site induction are never counted, and neither is anyone whose access you've revoked. Taking someone off a project doesn't take them off the bill.
What happens to my data if I cancel Foreman?
Everything keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. Then the account goes read-only: you can still see all your records, but nobody can add or change anything and the induction QR code stops taking new inductions. Your data is kept, and you can subscribe again any time.
Can I go back to the free plan after cancelling?
No. Once an account has been on the paid plan, cancelling makes it read-only, and it stays that way rather than dropping back to Free. To start adding records again, subscribe from Settings > Billing using Manage plan.
